WELCOME TO DAY 3 OF THE SEW ALONG!
Need to catch up?
Day 1: Choosing your size, fabric and options
Today we are finishing up the main bodice! I love seeing my sewing projects take form. Make sure the little tail of your binding is all lined up so you can catch it in your topstitching!
For my binding, I usually iron it wrong sides together to get a good crease. Usually this helps with attaching it to the bodice. I found it very hard to iron the fabric I choose. It didn’t want to stay and kept curling over. So personally I found it easier for this project to just take my time and attach it to the bodice folding it enough and unrolling the curling as I went.
For the topstitching you can either use a single or double needle. I used a single needle, but plan to look into getting a double needle soon. I love the look it gives! Either will work just fine though.

I’ve been too lazy to get and learn to use the double needle. I just sew on zero (needle at left) and then if the double will look better I just sew the same line on one (needle in center). LOL
The only problem with doing it this way is that a double needle is not just two rows of straight stitching. It shows straight stitching on the front but has a zig zag on the back. This allows the seam to stretch.
