My daughter just learned to read and I’ve been on the hunt for the BEST books for beginner readers!
Is your child ready to learn to read? Check out my post on Teaching your child to Read the Easy Way
Brought to you by my 5 year old here are our top books for beginner readers:
1. BOB Books
These are perfect for very beginning readers. It’s a great way to give your child some early success!
2. Mo Willems Elephant & Piggie Books
These are by far her favorite. The books are written with speech bubbles and she loves to pick which animal she is going to read. The books are simple and fun and have really helped her add emotion into her reading as she’s learned to pick up on the use of all caps and exclamation points
3. I Can Read
I love these books! It’s easy to check the number on the front to make sure you are grabbing the right level for your little reader and they cover tons of topics your little ones are sure to get excited about: Disney, My Little Pony, Star Wars, Lego, etc.
4. Dr. Seuss
It’s tough to beat a classic. We have loved all of these! The only downside in my opinion is they are fairly lengthy. To help us get through the book we just take turns reading pages
5. P.D. Eastman
These were my favorite as a child and I love sharing them with my daughter! Fun, classic stories with easy words that any child is certain to fall in love with

Great list! My mother also got the Dick and Jane books for my eldest, which he loves. For some reason the kitten cracks him up.
