Today we’re going to finish up!
Go ahead and sew steps 6 and 7 and get your coat turned right side out. Now is a great time to try it on and shorten the coat body or sleeves if you’d like.
Add your topstitching (I did just one row this time) and then it’s time for buttons!
In the tutorial it shows the girls view so here’s the boy view. Boys clothes always overlap left over and right and girls are right over left. To save myself some work I just make one row of functional buttons and then the others are fake 🙂 You really can’t tell once it’s on
If you’re in a shortcut type of mood you can also topstitch your sleeves instead of handstitching. Mine are slighty wonky but I think it still looks fine.
And you’re finished! Now go find a cute kiddo to bundle up 🙂
Remember if you want a chance to win gift cards to The Ribbon Retreat or Peek-a-Boo Pattern Shop to join the facebook group and upload your finished photo to the Pea Coat Album
You have until Friday night to get your photos added 🙂 Winners will be announced on Saturday
