- Pair of jeans ready to hit the scrap heap
- Seam ripper
- Sewing Machine
2. Sew your skirt panels together. Denim frays like crazy (I learned this the hard way) so make sure you serge your seams or stitch over them with a zig zag stitch.
3. Hem the bottom
4. Cut the waistband of the jeans into a front piece that’s 1/2 your tot’s waist measurement + 1″ for seam allowances. Cut a back piece that’s about 3″ longer. Cut a piece of elastic that’s a little less than half your waist measurement. Slide it through the back waistband and tack it down at each end. Now you have a gathered back for easy on and off
5.Slide your skirt into the front and back waistband, overlapping at the side seams and tucking in your raw edges. Sew in place along the bottom edge
