Meet the Contestants: Leslie & Ashley

Over the next few weeks I get to introduce you to our 15 contestants. Let me tell you they are all amazing!
Today we get to meet Leslie & Ashley
The Little Apple Seed
Hi I’m Leslie from The Little Apple Seed. I am so excited to have been selected for American Crafter! I am a stay at home mom to my 4 kids and I have been married to my sweet and hardworking husband for almost 10 years.  I started my blog in May of 2010 and I have been having so much fun creating and meeting so many great people. I love to sew, take pictures, re-purpose items, craft, and decorate.
One of my favorite projects I have done is a baby doll blanket for my little girl. She is 2 and her doll’s are always coming our of their blankets. I came up with a way that keeps them nice and snug so they won’t slip out. It’s my No-Slip Doll Blanket!
I have a tutorial up for this cute and easy project.
Again, I am so happy to have been selected and I can’t wait to see what challenges lie ahead.
My name is Ashley and I am married to a wonderful man {who totally supports my addiction to crafting}. I am mother to 4 children….3 boys and one spoiled but sweet little girl!! I live in Texas…hate the weather, but love the people! I am super blessed to be surrounded by family I love, friends that rock and a God that rules!! My blog was originally intended to brag on my kiddos and have a digital scrapbook of our every day lives…but it has morphed into a little bit family and a little bit crafty projects!! I have always loved being crafty…scrapbooking, painting, drawing and now special projects to beautify my home such as paper wreaths, making functional objects beautiful as well and decorating my mantle for each season!!
I am choosing my Yellow Jewelry Holders project as one of my favorites because I loved doing this project! I copied the chicken wire idea from another blog, but I had never worked with those materials before…so it was fun learning new techniques. I came up with using the coffee cup holder to hold the rest of my jewelry and learned that just because something is made of wood doesn’t mean it will be easy to paint!! I thought it would be a super easy project, but it certainly wasn’t. It was worth the time and effort because I use it every single day!!
Thanks Ladies!
