Meet the Contestants: Diane & Hope

Ready to meet 2 more amazing ladies?!? Today we get to meet Diane & Hope:

 from blank pages…

Hi! 🙂 I’m Diane and I love attempting to be creative. Ever since elementary school I’ve had a love for art (all kinds) and making things. Now that I’m a mom of 2 little boys and 1 girl on the way, my focus has turned more to children’s items and learning games, though I still love to do a modge podge of everything. I’ve been blogging for a couple of years, but more recently started combining all my blogs into one last August (from blank pages…). It’s a mix of crafts and projects, tutorials, inspirations I want to remember and a bit of our family life. It’s been a great success and a lot of fun getting to know so many wonderful people! I opened my Etsy Shop (db By Design) almost exactly two years ago and it has been a wonderful adventure and hobby. My husband is super great and totally gives me room to run with all my crazy and over-the-top ideas. 🙂

I don’t know if I have one favorite project, or that there is one that totally represents my blog perfectly since everyday is different and I tend to go a different direction every time I sit down to start a project. But one that I do love, and that I actually started my blog with are the Paper Name Mobile’s

I think these are super cute and really did cry when my oldest little monster tore them up. lol. They are so simple, and yet there is so much variety in creating them. It’s a fun variation of all the banners and word art that has been circling around blogland, and can even be used for Holiday greetings or other special occasions. You can find the tutorial here.

I am super excited to be a part of this contest! It was a total surprise to me when I received Amy’s email. 🙂 I can’t wait to see everyone’s projects! Good luck and Thank you!

Hi Everyone! I’m Hope from Sparkle. I’m a SAHM of 3 beautiful and bubbly little girls (ages 5, 4, & 2). I’ve been married to my husband, my best friend Josh, for almost 8 years. I started blogging so I would have a place to showcase the wedding jewelry that I make. My daughter wanted me to name the jewelry Sparkle, and it was so simple I liked it right away. Well…one thing led to another and before I new it, I was blogging about my crafts and family life too. Since I only started blogging in Dec. 2010 I guess you can call me a newbie. When I began my blog I didn’t realize at the time how addictive it would be. I have so much fun sharing my projects, making friends, and hopefully inspiring at least a couple people along the way. I’m still in shock to be a participant in American Crafter and know that this is going to be a fun experience.

I chose the Repurposed Changing Table to represent Sparkle because it has a bit of everything I’m trying to accomplish: Saving money, living a greener life, and making my house a home. I saved money by not buying a new piece of furniture. I lived a little greener because the furniture was repurposed. And because of the color it makes that little corner of the house seem more homey and inviting. This piece of furniture obviously gets used daily, and it brought a beautiful color into a room that was lacking.
Thanks so much for the support and encouragement I’ve already received. I hope to exceed your expectations.
