Let it Snow Tee Tutorial

In celebration of Let it Snow week Utah gave us some nice fresh snow & blue skies
My favorite!
In hopes of getting a bit more snow before our big ski weekend I made little miss a shirt for good luck
With a nice fluffy snowman
I love all of the texture and warmth a hand knit appliqué provides:)
  • Tee
  • White yarn and knitting needles or cast-off white knit item
  • Black fabric scrap
  • Orange embroidery floss
  • White t-shirt vinyl
1. Knit a swatch for your snowman. I did stockinette stitch (1 row knit, 1 row purl) and then switched to garter stitch (all rows knit) to give my snowman some texture

 2. Sew the knit swatch to your tee using a zig zag stitch and forming a snowman shape as you go. Trim off the excess yarn

3. Use a zig zag stitch to add a top hat and then hand stitch on an nice carrot nose

 4. You could be done at this point if you want. I decided to add “let it snow”. If you want the exact same look as mine you can download the SCAL file here (download and save the file. Then open SCAL and open the file from there. Otherwise your computer won’t recognize the file type)

Remember when you use t-shirt vinyl you have to cut it out backwards. Then you peel away the excess vinyl and iron it right on.

Now bring on the snow:)
Since little miss isn’t too crazy about the snow we snuggled up in bed for some reading
ummm… or peek-a-boo
  Don’t you love the snow?!
