Root Deer

These cheery root deer are a unique and fun gift for neighbors and friends. Your kids can even help make them!

Materials (I found everything at Wal-mart):
  • Old fashioned root beer
  • Brown pipe cleaners- 2/root deer
  • Googely eyes
  • Red pom-poms
  • Ribbon
  • Hot glue gun

1. Twist 1 pipe cleaner around the top of the bottle

2. Cut a second pipe cleaner into small segments and add to the antlers

3. Hot glue on 2 eyes, a nose, and a bow- hair bows for the ladies and bow ties for the gents

Rudolph with your nose so bright…
Have fun making these! We did this every year when I was little and I still LOVE it! I wish I knew who came up with this idea, but it’s been 15 years since my family started doing this and I have no clue where the idea came from. If it was you let me know:)

  1. Thanks so much for the Root Deer craft. That is so cute. So simple and easy, and inexpensive. I am surely going to make a few of these for this next Christmas. Your crafts are wonderful. Dottie

  2. This is perfect! I have been looking for a little gift for my daughter to give away to her teachers at school (she’s only there for 40 min, but she has 5 teachers) and I’m so going to copy this! Thanks
