It’s time to deck the halls! Add some festivity to your home with this Easy Christmas Doorway Garland!
I teamed up with Jo-Ann Fabric and Crafts to create this festive garland as part of their Simply Creative Christmas and I’m in love with the results! We don’t have a fireplace in our home so we needed a good alternate location to hang up our stockings and this was the perfect solution
I was really impressed with the quality of the garland and it was nice that they had tons of options to choose from that were already decorated! Less work for me is always a bonus 🙂 I went with a simple pine-cone and berry option and then added ribbon. They also have plain garlands if you want to start from scratch
A fun over-sized ornament and bow create a nice focal point for the garland.
To make my garland I purchased 2 garlands and then connected them end to end. The garland is quite flexible so I just wrapped it around itself
Then I wired on my ornament at the mid-point
To add a little something I wrapped some ribbon around the full length of the garland…
and then finished it off with a double bow. I found it easiest to tie my bow using a separate piece of ribbon and then attach it at the end
If you are hanging this over a standard door you can actually buy a garland hanger (just google it). For our arched doorway I did one nail at the top and then secured the rest of command hooks. The stockings are hung using some clear command hooks.
