Blog Swap with Crystal’s Craft Spot

I’m so excited to be here today.  I love Amy’s blog.  She makes so many adorable things that I just can’t wait to try.

I am Crystal from Crystal’s Craft Spot. It’s my little spot to share my current craft projects, tutorials, recipes, and ideas I want to use in the future. I  host a craft challenge every Wednesday and Feature yourself Friday that I would love for you to join. I also have a fun preschool blog called Always something to Learn and a new etsy shop, A.O.kay designs.

Here are some of my favorite projects you will find on my blog:

So a few months ago my cousin gave me a bag full of old scarfs she didn’t need any more.  She was hoping I could come up with a use for them.  Well I saw this plaid one and decided to turned one into a fun Winter skirt for my little one.

To make one you need a fabric scarf, elastic for the waist, and a sewing machine.
Measure around your little ones waist and add 4 or 5 inches.
Cut two pieces this length.  Sew them (long side) together.  If you don’t need extra length you can skip this step.
Now fold your fabric over to make a tube and sew.
At the top fold over twice to make a casing.  Sew around leaving a 2 inch space for your elastic.
Pull your elastic through the casing.  A safety pin makes this real easy.  Sew the two ends together and sew your skirt shut.
You can embellish it anyway you want or leave it plain.  Its super quick and will be so cute with some tights and boots.  My little one wasn’t in the mood to model today but I’m excited to see it all put together.
Come by Crystal’s Craft Spot anytime for more crafts and tutorial. Thanks again for letting me stop by. Its been a lot of fun!

Thanks Crystal- what a fun idea!
